Update on the Plutus Awards, the Board of Directors, and the New Advisory Group

The Plutus Foundation is committed to recognizing excellence in financial media. For the last decade, an awards ceremony has helped us celebrate the best of the best. This year, for the 11th Annual Plutus Awards presented by Capital Group, we’re excited to have Joe Saul-Sehy of Stacking Benjamins as our host.

The Plutus Foundation will hold this year’s Plutus Awards ceremony as a virtual event, allowing more people from throughout the community to come together and participate, sharing in the celebration. Participants and viewers can attend the ceremony from anywhere in the world on Friday, October 2, 2020.

The Plutus Awards team has been working hard to create an evening of entertainment and fun that recognizes the hard work and success achieved throughout the community.

To help the Foundation better respond to the community, the organization is creating an Advisory Group. Focusing on diversity and other issues important to us and to the community we represent, the Advisory Group will provide insight, present suggestions, and offer advice to our Executive Team. Applications for the Advisory Group are open now.

Our mission is to provide resources to the independent financial media, including content creators of all types. The issues that are important to our beneficiaries, our audiences, and our supporters are important to us. A diverse Advisory Group will help us understand issues from all angles as we plan for the Plutus Awards, Plutus Voices, our grants, and other projects, through meeting once a quarter for discussion and brainstorming.

We are also expanding our Board of Directors. The Plutus Foundation Board of Directors meets once a quarter. This group offers guidance and resources to the Executive Team as well as oversight of the Foundation’s finances. There are currently open positions on the Board of Directors, and the organization is looking for a board that is diverse in experience, background, resources, and demographics.

Applications for the Board of Directors are now open.

Anyone wishing to have the biggest impact on the Plutus Foundation and the community at large may be interested in being part of our Plutus Foundation Executive Team or our group of volunteers, those of us who are working on the Foundation’s many projects at the ground level. If you are interested in how your skills may fit our needs, email Executive Director, Harlan Landes.

Thank you to our community for help in the Foundation’s goal to make sure all voices are heard.
