Plutus Awards Voting starts today. Here’s everything you need to know.

Voting in the 15th Annual Plutus Awards begins today and will be open through the end of August. This is a new process this year, so we want to share some details.

The Plutus Awards recognize excellence in independent financial content and media, as well as our favorite financial products and services. Since 2008, the Plutus Awards have celebrated indie content, starting with blogs and social media, and expanding to cover all the ways content creators produce financial information today.

As of June 30, we have received nominations from independent content creators and their audiences. Nominations will continue to be open throughout the voting period.

All independent content creators are eligible, and all forms of media are eligible. Blogs, newsletters, podcasts, video channels, and in one category, published books. Here is our list of categories, including some new ones this year, giving even more independent content creators an opportunity to be recognized for their work.

Every vote received in every category counts towards our People’s Choice categories this year, and like in the most recent Plutus Awards, we will have four categories for People’s Choice, for written content (like blogs and newsletters), audio content (like podcasts), short-form video content (like TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts), and long-form video content (like YouTube or webinars). Votes within categories will be tallied and presented to our judges as one factor for consideration when choosing this year’s Finalists and Winners.

If you don’t see your favorite content creator among the options, it’s not too late to nominate them! You can do so at the same link. You can vote for three content creators or projects in each category.

This is also your chance to tell us about your favorite financial products, like budgeting apps or checking accounts. There are many more “enterprise” categories to view. Recognizing our favorite products helps the industry learn about consumers’ preferences, resulting in better products for all.
