Abdullah Al-Bahrani is an Associate Professor of Economics at Northern Kentucky University as well as director of the Center for Economic Education at NKU. His research focuses on financial literacy and financial behavior outcomes. as well as how to improve teaching economics and personal finance in the classroom. Abdullah believes in the importance of free markets and freedom in decision making. An important prerequisite to free markets is access to information, and a healthy access to financial literacy allows individuals to make better decisions for themselves. His research on financial literacy and financial outcomes has appeared in the Journal of Consumer Affairs, and the Journal of Housing Research. His Research in economic education has focused on how to use social media, active learning, and music to bring economics and personal finance to life. His teaching has earned him awards at Northern Kentucky University and the Haile/US Bank College of Business.
